| Glossary:
eBook, ebook, Ebook, e-book, E-book, electronic book = a book that is available in a digital format that can be read on a computer or other reading device. Currently there is no agreement on how to actually spell the word. The choice is yours. Email = The ability to send messages across the Internet using your browser's email program or on online based email provider. e-publisher, epublisher, Epublisher, E-publisher = A publisher who primarily publishes material in an electronic digital format. They may also offer books in audio, POD, traditional mass market, or hardback, but electronic is the primary. An e-publisher may purchase only the electronic rights, not print rights. POD = Print on Demand. A new technology which holds a book in digital format until purchased, where it is printed and shipped, usually within a couple of weeks. This reduces costs because it reduces print runs and there is no warehousing. |
